I received my BS in Biological Sciences from Rutgers University in New Jersey. Afterwards, I taught high school biology for 3-years where I learned a great deal about the intricacies of school systems and student performance. My experiences there taught me about the impact of mental health and family issues on the well-being of teenagers and propelled me towards a career in counseling. Since graduating from Virginia Tech's, Marriage and Family Therapy program in 2007, I worked as a resident at The Center for Pastoral Counseling and as a home-based counselor with National Counseling Group. Those experiences expanded my understanding of the connections between body, mind and spirit, and the complexities of helping families while working with government institutions.

Since 2011, I have been privileged to work in group practices that honed my skills as a counselor and provided specialized mental health services to children/teens, families, and couples overcoming anxiety, depression, mood issues, infidelity, communication difficulties, ADD/ADHD, and traumatic life experiences. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, your issues are viewed in the context of family and societal systems that have shaped and continue to impact you.
